Do you remember the super sweet days of good, ole’ spring break? Me too. Don’t they seem like a lifetime ago? Alright, so I’m dating myself by admitting that. With one snowstorm after another in NYC, old man winter had me running for the the sandy, beaches of Miami, stat. We booked our stay at the Mondrian, and I was beyond excited. Little did I realize that I’d be arriving in South Beach, at the exact same time as the “spring breakers”… meaning that packs of high school and college kids, would take over those lovely, quiet sandy beaches, with their party pants on.

This weekend was quite the sunny one in NYC, and I loved every second of it. The sunshine has got me counting to down to summer, as well as Memorial Day weekend. How many more days? I should start the picnic prep now, right? I thought so. I’m a summer girl, and I live for my summer wardrobe. Bring on the brights, the prints, and the insanely uncomfortable, yet adorable summer sandals! I’m ready and armed with extra band aids!

One Spontaneous Day

Do you ever spend a whole day breaking rules? I mean your own rules. I tend to be a creature of habit, ordering the same lunch, same coffee; I run around the city with the same daily schedule, and my life can feel a bit like the movie, Groundhog Day. #Snooze. Spring has finally sprung, (but without the warmer temps)! That being said, let’s talk seasonal trends. Denim is a timeless classic. You’d be lost without your favorite pair of jeans, right? Well, for me that’s not necessarily the case. I actually don’t own a pair of blue jeans…#truth! I’m not a casual girl, and never quite feel my best in them. In the winter, I sport black pants, and live in a leather jacket. In the spring, I dust off my white jeans and pair them with a floral blouse. There’s no in between for me.

Hello yoga pants! Now that I’ve got your attention, a serious question to ask, here. Does anyone really look bad in yoga pants? They are somehow flattering to all shapes and sizes (unless of course, they are sheer, and then I might retract my statement.) Although yoga isn’t quite my forte, I am a fan of these easy, breezy little tights, that I slip on before I dart out the door to the gym. They shrink down to size, and as I pull them out of my drawer, they look teeny, they look tiny, and I swear if I eat one more blueberry, they won’t quite fit, but voilà! They always do! They stretch, they cling, they flatter, and they do hug in all the right places. Little miracle workers, they are! As I throw on a top, and sneakers, I think to myself, why can’t I just live in these clothes everyday? They’re cute, comfy, and they are entirely too easy.

Summer sundresses, picnic blankets, and a polo match? Yes please! Top that off with some Veuve Clicquot bubbly, and you’ve got yourself a perfectly dreamy afternoon at one of NYC’s swakiest events, the Ninth Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. The match is held at Liberty State Park, and is a competition between Nacho Figueras’ Team Black Watch and Team Veuve Clicquot. This year, we attended with event with two of our closest friends, Nick and Blair.

Romper Ready For Spring

This past Sunday, we celebrated the first day of Spring, with a forecast of snow. Lovely, right? However the sun was shining throughout the weekend, and so I definitely made the most of it. Last week, was crazy with my work schedule, but we did attend a fab magazine launch party for Reserved Magazine x J. Elster pop-up shop. It was hosted by super model and photographer Helena Christensen, model and actress, Brooke Shields, along with film maker and designer Jennifer Elster. I promised myself that I’d hibernate over the weekend, in hopes of getting lots of sleep, a few great workouts, and some cleaning accomplished. Quite the opposite of my plans, it was a jam packed weekend, but full of fun.
