Spring has finally sprung, (but without the warmer temps)! That being said, let’s talk seasonal trends. Denim is a timeless classic. You’d be lost without your favorite pair of jeans, right? Well, for me that’s not necessarily the case. I actually don’t own a pair of blue jeans…#truth! I’m not a casual girl, and never quite feel my best in them. In the winter, I sport black pants, and live in a leather jacket. In the spring, I dust off my white jeans and pair them with a floral blouse. There’s no in between for me.
Spring and summer, however, are quite the opposite. I trade in leather, for a denim jacket and rock it all season long. I have a blue denim jacket and a white one as well. They are so much fun to use as laying pieces, while adding a cool vibe to your look. Add denim skirts to the mix, which I own in a variety of colors, and I’m happy as a clam. The options are endless.
This season, I’ve fallen for a new silhouette; the denim dress. Similar to the shift dress silhouettes you see me wear, I found a denim option that I love. With clean lines, a fitted silhouette, and gold trim, this beauty is a perfect transition into a spring wardrobe and works for fall as well. It has long sleeves, which is great for chilly nights, and you can easily pair the look with a variety of ankle boots, or over the knee boots. The options are endless, and there are many variations of this dress that I’ve seen in the stores lately.
I paired my own denim dress with grey ankle boots (similar here), and silver aviators to keep my color scheme. I added a mini, studded shoulder bag (similar here), and hoop earrings (similar here) to complete the look. It felt fun, fab, and super comfy. I could see myself sporting this look to brunch on a Sunday, for an afternoon stroll through the city, or a casual night out.
