It’s sweater season, people, and that down right makes me cringe. Holiday lights are everywhere I look, and while it’s all merry and bright, I operate best with a daily dose of sunshine. Screw the snow. (Why do I live in New York?)
In a last minute effort to ditch the cold, we decided to live our best lives with a quick trip Miami. The weather was sunny. Days by the pool were exactly what I hoped for, and the sand between my toes felt like therapy, as I watched the waves crash around me. Nights out felt fabulous, and in all honesty, we felt like kids again. There’s literally nothing better than that feeling. Like all cares in the world have magically vanished like smoke.
Without further ado, here are my favorite places and spaces of Miami Beach.
1 Hotel South Beach
Elegant yet earthy, this calming oasis of a resort quickly stole my heart. It was our first visit to the hotel, and it’s by far been my favorite stay of the trip. The pool was gorgeous, and the view of the beach was perfection. The atmosphere felt so serene, and peaceful. The rooms were incredible. We were given a suite, overlooking the ocean. The balcony, was complete with a bed, which we spent evenings lounging under the stars listening to the ocean. I was in heaven.
Mondrian South Beach
This boutique hotel is a gem. The decor is beautiful, with a grand, spiral, black staircase and white hydrangeas everywhere I looked. It feels glamorous. The pool is calming in the morning, until the music starts bumpin’ and it definitely takes on a bit of a party scene in the afternoon. The brunch is delish, and in the past, I’ve loved the rooms. The balcony overlooking the pool, as well the bay makes for a pretty picture, however this time we had a streak of bad luck, and our room didn’t turn out quite as planned.
Watr
Located on the top of the One Hotel, this restaurant made for a fab, first night out. With twinkling lights, glowing through the trees, we dined on Asian cuisine, and the night felt festive.
Hakkasan
Our night at Hakkasan was my absolute favorite. I’ll admit that I turned this restaurant down several times in Miami, while I still heard rave reviews. This time we bit the bullet. Located in the glamorous, Fontainebleau hotel, the dining experience was superb. The Cantonese cuisine was once again Asian inspired (our favorite), which went well with the decor. I would 100% visit again. It was perfect for a romantic night out on the town.
Naked Taco
The sound of this place, makes you wonder, right? Well, the tacos proved to rock just as much as the name of this joint. For a super casual night out, this was a fun spot. Feed me tacos and tell me I’m pretty. Gracias.
Mr. Chow
As one of my favorite restaurants in New York, how could we turn this restaurant down? We couldn’t. We visit the location in Tribeca often, and the restaurant in Miami Beach is just as divine. Located in the W Hotel, it’s fancy, and oh-so-fabulous. It is authentic Beijing cuisine at it’s best, and I literally live for it. Each plate is delish. The restaurant itself truly has a “wow” factor. It highly recommend for a special night out.
Cecconi’s
You know I dream of this spot. Again, one of my favorites in New York (Dumbo to be exact,) this Italian spot has my heart. Located in the Soho Beach House, you walk out into a garden of glittering lights. the ambiance is incredible and the food is always fabulous. I’ve been several times, and it’s a night to remember.
Phenomenom Cookies
For late night treats, these cookies are literally to die for. My absolute favorites in Miami Beach. Scout them out! They will now disappoint.
