You take a step outside, look up to the sky, and the clouds seem to roll on in, just when you weren’t quite expecting it. The gloomy days pass on by without an end in sight. While this may be a reality, or just symbolic of life right now, it happens. We go through phases in life that we just can’t quite seem to shake.

January 20, 2020Yep, you read that right. After our last adventure with London in Maui (check out that post here), we caught the travel bug and popped over to Miami Beach to celebrate Grant’s 40th Birthday. Yes, Hawaii was supposed to be the big bang, but I decided we needed a little sunshine to ring in his 40th.
It’s sweater season, people, and that down right makes me cringe. Holiday lights are everywhere I look, and while it’s all merry and bright, I operate best with a daily dose of sunshine. Screw the snow. (Why do I live in New York?)
Red swimsuit. Sunshine beaming on my face. Toes in the sand. The waves crashing around me. Visions of a lifeguard stand off in the distance. “Runnnnn!” Grant yells, as I hear the sound of the camera’s shutter fluttering in the distance. I sprint towards him in my teeny, red bikini across the sands of Miami Beach. My hair whipping behind me in slow motion. In my head, it felt like a scene from Baywatch.
Blow up your inflatable flamingo raft, grab a cocktail, and float on over. I’m sharing the best places and spaces that we loved during our recent trip to Miami Beach. I forgot that it was spring break, and it just so happened to be a convenient time to hop a flight. Let’s just say, it made for some fab people watching. That being said, I slipped on my flip flops and soaked up the sun in style. I spent days by the pool, with strolls on the beach, and evenings out, decked to the nines. We stopped at a few trendy restaurants for dates nights, evening pit stops for treats, and late nights out with friends. Ohh, and let me tell you about this cookie spot we found. It was my jam!
Do you remember the super sweet days of good, ole’ spring break? Me too. Don’t they seem like a lifetime ago? Alright, so I’m dating myself by admitting that. With one snowstorm after another in NYC, old man winter had me running for the the sandy, beaches of Miami, stat. We booked our stay at the Mondrian, and I was beyond excited. Little did I realize that I’d be arriving in South Beach, at the exact same time as the “spring breakers”… meaning that packs of high school and college kids, would take over those lovely, quiet sandy beaches, with their party pants on.
