It arrived in the mail and it was perfection. I slipped it on, and I felt like a million bucks. From the moment my doorman handed me the package, I just couldn’t take it it off. It was love at first sight. If I could sleep in this pretty little number, I would. It’s the first dress to have stolen my heart since “Norma,” my wedding gown.
The crowded city streets, of New York Fashion Week are quite the site to say the least. Dull? Never. Your head will spin with an array of colors, patterns, and textures worn by each and every fashionista that stomps your way, so you better slide your sunnies on and work. One look is more extravagant than the next, and after awhile, it all seems like a circus on display. I love to play along, don’t get me wrong, and there’s nothing more inspiring that the runways come to life.
When Grant and I met, we dated long distance for several years. He lived in Kentucky, and I was here in NYC. I would visit his hometown in Kentucky on the weekends. One day, as he drove me around, I noticed a sign that said Versailles. “Hey, you brought me to France,” I teased. Little did I realize, that there’s a Versailles in Kentucky too. I was caught in a daydream, as we drove. Wouldn’t it be oh-so-lovely to visit Versailles in France together one day? It would be quite the dream.
Ya know the days when you tear your closet apart and come out empty handed? It’s the most frusterating feeling, isn’t it? You search and search but can’t quite come up with options. This often happens to me, because I choose to buy statement pieces, instead of separates. Bad habit.

“Babe. Those shoes don’t look comfortable. You can’t move in them. Practical…think practical. You need to be able to move quickly.” “What do you mean,” I said. “These shoes are just fine. I’m not running a race.” Little did I know…my husband was so right.
It was the height of New York Fashion Week, and we attended one party after another, reviewing the collections of several clothing brands. The very best part about these fancy soirées, is being dressed for events. Ah, yes…one step into the Lafayette 148 showroom, and my little heart skipped a beat. A million beautiful outfits, and I couldn’t wait to pick one. With just one glance, I spied spectacular prints, stunning silhouettes, and a color palette that made me swoon.
A million Thanksgivings and I remember each one for different reasons. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday and a special family tradition. It allows me to stop for a few days, breathe and remember why I’m grateful for the moments and the people in my life. My greatest challenge is to live in the present. I’ve written about this many times, and I think I’m learning to do that. It is important to be grateful for what you have and appreciate each second that you’re living. Take time to thank the people who make your life better just by being a part of it. I have many of those people in my life, and I hope you do too.
One weekend, a handful of style influencers, and one luxurious ship in a league of it’s own. We were lucky enough to be invited on a weekend adventure with Royal Caribbean to explore their latest and greatest ship, The Anthem of the Seas, which is currently docked in Bayonne, New Jersey. We were wined and dined, we celebrated and explored, and met so many incredible people. It was truly a memorable weekend.
All aboard! We have been invited on an adventure with Royal Caribbean, and are currently counting down the days before we set sail on their latest and greatest ship, the Anthem of the Seas. I’ve never been on a cruise before, so I’m excited for this one. With a boat full of a few of my blogger besties, fabulous food and fun activities, it should be quite the ride.
