Ya know the days when you tear your closet apart and come out empty handed? It’s the most frusterating feeling, isn’t it? You search and search but can’t quite come up with options. This often happens to me, because I choose to buy statement pieces, instead of separates. Bad habit.
By statement pieces, I mean one entire look. One killer dress. One amazing jumpsuit. One and done. It’s too easy. But, by purchasing separates, for example a floral blouse, printed pants, or a solid, suede skirt, you have many options to pair together. Its up to you, to use your creativity and style your own masterpiece.
For the Fall look that I styled, I chose a simple, black dress (similar here) that I purchased over the summer. During that time, I paired basic black heels with it, and accessorized with jewels to add some sparkle. I knew that the dress would transition well into Fall, and it did.
I took my favorite, printed blouse, which I recently found, and paired it underneath the dress. I knew that this blouse had so much versatility, and could easily be paired with blazers, layered under a leather, moto jacket, or tucked into a pair of jeans. I loved the sheer, light fabric, with the subtle print as a contrast to the black dress. Now for the best part about the blouse…the brillant bow, of course! I pulled the tie from the top of the blouse, and looped it into a bow, which laid at the neckline of the dress. No necklace needed!
The bow acts and accessory on its own, and a fabulous one, at that. Tops with neck details such as ties, bows, turtlenecks, and chokers are definitely trending right now, so find a style that you love, and join the party. The look definitely adds an element of sopistication to your Fall ensemble.
To accessorize, I wore simple, black, ankle boots (similar here), black framed “Rockstud” sunnies (similar here), and silver hoop earrings (similar here). I finished the look by carrying a black, studded shoulder bag (similar here).
What are your favorite looks for Fall? Search and discover a few pieces that you may have hiding in your own closet. Channel your creativity, and style your fabulous fall looks. We’d love to know what you create, so make sure to give us a shout out. Wishing you a faboulous week, beauties! xx
