I recently had the honor of hosting a shopping party at Cynthia Rowley, along with my friend and fellow blogger, Cara Kovacs of The Stylephile. The event was held at Rowley’s Madison Avenue Boutique.
On April 17th, between 6-8 p.m., I will be co-hosting a shopping event with Cara Kovacs at Cynthia Rowley’s Madison Avenue store in New York. About a week or so ago, I had a chance to try on several outfits at the boutique. One of my favorites was the Bonded Shift Dress, with a gorgeous floral print, that is both feminine and sophisticated.

We are celebrating one year, since the launch of Sleepless in Sequins. Our party was planned, but now, what to wear? This is an important occasion for us, and I wanted to choose a very special outfit. I came upon the most gorgeous Alice and Olivia, sequin Taryn Dress at Saks Fifth Avenue. It is one of the most gorgeous dresses I’ve ever owned. Shades of blue are on trend for spring, so this was perfect. As I tried the dress on at Saks, I explained our celebration to the sales women. They were so sweet, helpful and just as excited as I was about our photo shoot.
It has officially been one year since the launch of Sleepless in Sequins. We created our site through a combined love for design, style, and photography. Meet the man behind the camera, Grant Friedman. He is my husband, photographer, and best friend. Together we create style shoots, attend fashion events, and runway shows. He challenges me, and inspires me to create every day. Sleepless in Sequins has become our hobby, our love, and our direct connection with the fashion and photography industries.
I recently had the pleasure of attending a Birchblogger breakfast with Birchbox and W3LL People cosmetics. I had the incredible opportunity to meet Shirley Pinkson, one of the founders of the all natural cosmetic brand. Shirley spoke about her background and development of the brand. We learned about each of the products, had a chance to ask questions, and received makeovers from the artists.
I recently had the pleasure of attending accessories designer, Elaine Turner’s Store Opening Celebration on Madison Avenue, which is her first New York boutique. The party was hosted by Purses and Pursenalities, and 10% of the proceeds from the party went to the Madison Square Boys’ & Girls’ Club. The Texas based designer creates gorgeous handbags, shoes, and jewelry. Her collection showcases beautiful styles, full of color and textured fabrics. The moment I walked in the store, I understood the direction of the brand. The brilliant color and fun, flirty accessories targets the adventurous woman who expresses her zest for life through her personal style.
I was so excited for our trip to Miami, I could hardly wait. We stayed at the gorgeous Fontainebleau resort in Miami Beach. A girls’ trip, in the sunshine was just what I needed.
We’ve had quite the winter in New York City this year. The continuous snowfall, left me longing for some sunshine and warmer weather. A Florida getaway to visit my sister, was the perfect cure for my winter blues. Anxious to ditch my winter sweaters, I set out on a search to find the perfect resort outfits for my trip.
New York Fashion Week, Fall Winter 2014 season has officially come to a close. We had a busy week, covering runway shows, attending fashion events, and parties. Fashion Week is my absolute favorite time of year. The creation and production of each show always amazes me. I truly admire the designers in my industry and the collections they create each season. As fashion week comes to an end, these designers further ignite my passion to design and create my own jewelry collection. For me, each show is a story with a theme and a backdrop. The collections are coordinated with color palettes, prints, silhouettes, and coordinated with hair and makeup to complete each look.
