Let’s talk about taking on challenges, shall we? You’re faced with them, daily right? So am I. So, let’s do this together. How do you channel your energy? How do you pack a mean punch? Here are a few strategies that I use to get the job done. I hope they can help you do to the same.
Baby Steps
You know the projects that feel entirely overwheming? Just thinking about it gives you an icky feeling in your gut right? It’s enough to keep you up at night. Me too. I want you to remember to take baby steps. Put one foot in front of the other. Tackle your challenge moment by moment, and task by task. You will get through it one step at a time.
Time is on Your Side
You want to to be at the finish line, before you even start, right? I know that feeling. I want my project to be perfection the day that I begin. It always helps me to know that I’ve got all of the hours in the day. I can work from morning to night, and everything will get done in time.
Practice Patience
This is a tough one for me. Look to the future and envision your end result. Now, trust that you will get there.
Take a Deep Breath
Be kind to yourself and take a breather from time to time. Know that you are only human and while you may be superman or superwoman, you can’t wear yourself thin. Take care of you, and know when it’s time to give yourself a break to sleep, work on another activity, or be with friends; because these things are just as necessary in life.
Come Back Stronger
Often when I let myself rest, I come back stronger and can tackle challenges with a clear mind. This is so beneficial.
Find Your Focus
Another tough one, so buckle up. Can you use your tunnel vision? I want you to try. While facing your challenge, avoid distractions, kick the insecurities, and focus on yourself and your own challenge. Trust yourself and don’t lose control. Slow and steady wins the race.
Your Strength is Your Superpower
I mean it! What are you good at? What makes you feel powerful? What is your secret weapon that no one else has? Find that strength and use it to take on your challenge. This is the best advice that close friends have given me lately, and it’s made a difference.
Work on Weaknesses
Make weaknesses your strengths by improving them daily. With patience and persisance you can power through anything.
Lean on Me
Ok, well not necessarily, me…but if need you to, I’m always here. Lean on friends, family, and mentors that will support you and build you up.
Respect Yo’self
Last but not least, be your own bestie! Know that you can, and will do anything. Believe in yourself.
I believe in you, and I hope that you do too! So, whatever you may be facing right now, breathe deeply, set your focus, and find your strength. Are you ready? We said we’d do this together, right? Ok…ready, set, go! #fistbump
