Navy & Nude for the Weekend

I spent the weekend wearing very little clothing. Well, let’s just say that my fancy outfits this weekend were few and far between. While I can usually tell you about our weekend adventures, I was sick for the majority of the weekend. My wardrobe consisted mainly of pjs, and well…more pjs. My choice of cocktail for the weekend? I sipped on a chilled glass of water, on the rocks (snooze). I didn’t even grab a champagne glass. My brunch, lunch, and dinners consisted of plain bread (#allofthecarbs). While the sun was shining, and it looked like spring, I watched out the windows, sleeping for hours upon hours. As I’ve mentioned, being home for even an entire day drives me bananas. I can’t handle it. I was itching to get out, and finally on Sunday, I felt a bit better, and headed out into the sunshine.

After a weekend in pjs, I knew I needed a glamorous look to make me feel like myself again. It’s amazing how just the act of putting yourself together in the morning can make you feel so much better. I pulled out a brand new navy and nude lace dress (similar here and here) (yes, this is where the nude part comes in). I added a white blazer (similar here), since it was still a bit chilly out. I accessorized with a gold, collar necklace (similar here), and gold hoop earrings (similar here). I carried a beige, cross body bag (similar here), which was the sweetest gift from my parents. I wore my new Alexander McQueen sunnies, and patent, nude pumps.

The little lace dresses are here to stay, especially for the spring season. I love this particular one, because of the contrasting nude lining against the navy lace. It is such an elegant look. A few of my favorite brands that create these gorgeous styles are, For Love and Lemons, as well as Self Portrait. My dress, was inspired by a similar one that I fell in love with, worn by blogger babe, Ashley of Impossibly Imperfect. You can check out her post here.

During the sunny, Sunday afternoon, we took a stroll down Madison Avenue, window shopped, and watched the Oscars. Hope you had a lovely weekend, beauties! Did you have any Oscar favorites from the red carpet? Give us a shout out! Lots of love from NYC. xx
