Pop. Clink. Fizz! We are poppin’ bottles and celebrating 2 years since the launch of Sleepless in Sequins today! Oh, what a two years it’s been. With hundreds of styles featured, numerous events supporting our favorite brands, runway shows, and the gift of working with my very best friend and husband, I feel lucky for the experiences we’ve shared over the past two years.
What absolutely means the most is the love and support of you, our readers. We create, in order to inspire you through fashion and photography. It’s easy to see a model, perfectly styled in a magazine, and feel that look of perfection is too challenging to achieve. We want you to see real life style. I am far from perfection, but hope to show you the beauty and style in everyday life, and give you ideas that you can achieve on your own. The idea is to have fun with your look, show confidence, and live your life in true celebration. To hear your feedback, and to know we inspire you means the world to us.
I feel so thankful for the fashion blogging community we’ve met along the way. These women truly inspire me. We are all on the same mission, but each of us sees differently through our own eyes of style. I admire each and every blogger I know for different reasons and that’s the beauty of it.
Do you have a passion that you love? Something that you can’t stop dreaming about? If you attack your passion with all of your heart, it will never feel like work. In my mind, that’s the key to happiness, and the greatest challenge may be discovering this gift. Never give up on it. Each one of you has something greater than you may ever believe, and you will find it. I promise.
To celebrate our 2 years in sequins, I chose Milly’s Cubist Print Cut-Out Sheath Dress. I loved the combination of the colorful print combined with the the black as a contrast color. I often choose these fitted silhouettes, as they work well with my body type. This dress is definitely flattering to the figure, and the cut out pieces in the silhouette are so much fun. The dress shows a bit of skin, but just enough for the dress to still look playful, but sophisticated.
I accessorized with my brand new Valentino sunnies, and Christian Louboutin Bianca Pumps. I wore silver jewelry, and chose an electric blue clutch (similar here) to accentuate the colors in the dress.
It was the very best day to celebrate in NYC. We had our first warm, sunny weekend, and the weather couldn’t have been better. Central Park and Bryant Park were both alive, and full of people enjoying the wonderful weather. We spent the majority of our day in Central Park, and toasted with champagne along with our favorite ice cream treats in the evening.
So Beauties, I hope you’ve enjoyed 2 years of our Sleepless in Sequins journey. If there are any styles you’d like to see, opinions, ideas, or further inspiration, we’d love to hear your thoughts. We’re here to help you live your lives in style, and dream bigger than you ever thought possible. We hope you continue to join on our path of adventure in NYC. We are grateful for you, always. Sending love and thanks for a spectacular 2 years. “Life is short. Wear sequins and enjoy the party.” xo
