Give them one giant squeeze, stir yourself a cocktail, step into your fanciest party dress, and get ready for one wild ride. At least that’s the way I like to tackle challenges, so I challenge you to do the same.
It seemed only appropriate, that for our Maui adventure in paradise, I found a dress that did just that. I accessorized with a pair of bright yellow, heeled sandals from Aerosoles, which I fell in love with. They worked perfectly with the dress, and were super comfortable to wear throughout the day, regardless of where we went, the shoes felt great. I designed the Lemon Tassel Earrings to coordinate with my dress, and I loved them. (If you’d like to rock your own pair this summer, email me at hallie@sleeplessinsequins.com for deets.)I finished off the look with my fave, Valentino Rockstud sunnies.
Now for vacay deets. We escaped to Maui on a spontaneous trip. New York can do it’s best to throw a curve ball at life from time to time, so we dodged that one, and hopped a plane.
During our trip, we did our best to explore the island. We took a spin around the island in a hot, little, red, Ford Mustang convertible. For a day in my lemon dress, we visited Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm. I had always wanted fo see rolling hills of lavender in my life. Brilliant purple ones, that would seem to go on forever. It was a bucket list thing. While the lavender didn’t seem to be in full bloom, the gardens were pretty, and the views over looking the mountains were incredible.
Next, we stopped for lunch at Mama’s Fish House, which is my favorite lunch spot on the island. The views over looking the ocean are beyond amazing, and the restaurant is so charming. It’s got a true Hawaiian feel. We eat there, each time we visit. It’s a great place to celebrate an occasion, or to just stop by. My favorite dishes to order are the Crab Guacamole with Plantain Chips, and the Crispy Mahi Mahi Rolls. They are both delish!
We took our hot, little car for a ride around the coast to check out some ocean views. We never drive in NYC, so we were a bit fearful, but had a blast driving around together.
During the evening, we picked up easy sandwiches and wine to share for dinner. We ate on our balcony, overlooking the ocean. That’s the best part about the Andaz Maui. The views are everything! Dinner can be simple or fancy, and both options will make for a night to remember.
I couldn’t have wished for a more incredible adventure. It was everything I had hoped for, and with a swift twirl in my lemon printed dress, it worked like a charm. I will continue posting about the trip theought the week, so make sure to tune in for reviews and recommendations. Wishing you a lovely week, beauties.
