Over two weeks have passed since the birth of baby London, and I’ve officially crossed over the the other side. Hello Mamaville! Yes, I believe it’s actually a destination. From my birth story to postpartum thoughts and all the feels, here’s the report.
On a recent warm, summer Sunday, I sat at the fountain at Lincoln Center. It was the very same spot, that we sat, facing each other last year, around midnight, after receiving the most soul crushing news of our lives. (You may remember the photo. I’ll never forget it.) An exact year has gone by, and this summer day feels much different. We are in that very same spot, but I feel the warm, rays of the sun beating down on us. I hear the fountain trickling behind us, but more importantly, I place my hand on my very round belly, to feel the kicks of our growing baby boy.
Say hello to Rosa. She’s the one that stole my heart. From the moment I opened that crisp dust bag, and saw that perfect, little white bag, I knew it was love at first sight.
Peace out abs! Hello boobs…and baby belly. As I’ve watched many of my girlfriends go through pregnancy, this seems to be a conversation had only over coffee talk. “My body just doesn’t feel the same. It takes some getting used to,” they’ve said. I always wondered how I would deal, when it was my turn. Now it is. Now I’m dealing.
With the Labor Day holiday weekend fast approaching, you’re looking for that must-have beach accessory, aren’t you? Unicorns are all the rage these days, so why not draw extreme attention to your beach bod for the last time this summer with one, giant unicorn inflatable raft? You are already imagining unicorns leaping across rainbows in the sky aren’t you? Is the sky also raining champagne, in celebration of the last summer weekend as well? I thought so.
If you had one wish on a cake, with a million twinkling candles, what would it be? An endless spin around the universe? An epic journey across the globe? A new job? A growing family? A shiny new home? There are too many things. How do you focus on just one aspect in your life?
If you know me well, or you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you know that I’m a lover of two things. I have a true love for all things that sparkle. As a jewelry designer, and style influencer, I live for glitz and glam everyday of my life. Now go to the opposite extreme, and I’m also passionate about fitness. I love putting my absolute heart and soul into my workouts, sweating through the excitement but also the stresses in life. I find my workouts to be healing and I’m lost without them. These two loves of mine, are my match made in heaven.
You are on vaca, and you are headed to the pool. What’s your outfit of choice? A swimsuit, coverup, flip flops…the usual, right? One would think that would be an appropriate outfit, for a beach day. I happen to agree, so I slipped into my teeny, multicolored bikini and headed for the pool.
Give them one giant squeeze, stir yourself a cocktail, step into your fanciest party dress, and get ready for one wild ride. At least that’s the way I like to tackle challenges, so I challenge you to do the same.
It sounds like a simple task, and yet it’s an easy one to forget. There are places and spaces that help me to breathe much easier, and Maui is one of them. It’s quite the distance from NYC, but somehow, this place feels like home.
