New York Fashion Week is in full swing, and I was thrilled to be invited once again, for a fab styling sesh with TRESemmé, to prep for the runway shows. They did the most incredible job last season, and I knew this season would be no different.
As I walked into the TRESemmé studio, I saw fashionistas everywhere, and each had styles that I loved. I saw loosely cascading braids, which looked stunning on blogger babe, Kendall Kremer of Styled Snapshots. Another was a twisted, off to the side ponytail, as seen on one of my favorite style icons, Jenny Bernheim of Margo and Me. I was chatting with my stylist, Justin McKay, as he was explaining the hottest looks of the season. “Undone” or deconstructed looks are definitely having a moment right now, as well as tousled locks with added texture. The imperfect becomes perfection in the world of styling.
For my look, on Day 3 of NYFW, I chose a romantic, swept up look, since it complimented the look of my outfit (which I will explain in my next post). I do think it’s important, when creating your look, to keep your hair and makeup, in line with the inspiration for your ensemble.
First, Justin created volume for the top of my hair, which I always love. The volume adds an element of glamour. Then he braided two pieces, one on each side, which cascaded downward, towards the back of my head. Piece by piece, he folded and tucked the lower strands, pulling them up into a twist. Justin worked his magic to give me the exact look that I loved.
TRESemmé’s products are incredible as well. We went out to do a photo shoot after my hair was complete, and the wind blowing like crazy. I didn’t think there was any way that my hair would even stay in place, but to my surprise, not one strand moved. I use their hairspray on a daily basis, because of it’s staying power and it’s fabulous.
I’ve worked with several of the stylists they are all so talented. I’d say my TRESemmé styling sesh was a success! Many thanks to the TRESemmé team. I had the most amazing day.
Make sure to tune in this week, as well be showing you several looks from New York Fashion Week. Lots of love from NYC. xx
