Dressing Fourth of July Fabulous

June 30, 2014

The Fourth of July holiday weekend is upon us, and I can hardly wait! It is a true summer celebration of American pride. You’re probably excited to head to cook outs, pool parties, or other outings with family and friends. This summer, my husband I have planned picnics almost every weekend, and I’m sure the holiday weekend will be no different.

While shopping in one of my favorite neighborhood boutiques, Olive and Bette’s one afternoon, I was inspired by the patriotic styles and accessories in their shop. I found an American Flag tote bag, which was perfect for our holiday picnic. As I continued shopping around the store, I realized that I could completely create my Fourth of July look, from the fabulous options in the boutique. I left with with a gorgeous, printed silk tank by Amanda Uprichard, white denim shorts by Paige jeans, and flip flops by Ipanema. I accessorized with Color Bar bracelets by Two’s Company, and navy drop earrings. I love Olive and Bette’s for the assortment of their gorgeous prints. There were so many options of frilly dresses, printed shorts, and great rompers. Olive and Bette’s has a few boutiques located in the city, and I highly recommend stopping by, if you are in the neighborhood.

After my fabulous day of shopping, I stopped by to pick up some fresh strawberries, flowers and a few other snacks for our picnic. We set up in Central Park, ready for a day of sunshine, great food and friends. My patriotic outfit was perfect for our cool, casual celebration. Choosing shorts and a comfy t-shirt is simple during the hot summer days. You can spice things up by pairing a fun print, or delicate fabric, such as silk, with a neutral pair of shorts for a fun, feminine look. Try it, and let me know which fabulous outfit you style for your Fourth of July celebration. I wish you a safe, and wonderful holiday, Beauties. Cheers!

Many thanks to the Olive and Bette’s team for their generous collaboration on this post.
