Five minutes to shop, and you’re scrambling. You need to quickly put a look together and you’re out of ideas, with no time to spare. Panic mode, right? You’ve been in the situation…I’m sure you have. You just can’t seem to find that one, fabulous “must have” piece, that would make dressing for your evening event oh-so-simple. If your stumped, and can’t find what your looking for, stop, drop, and simplify. You’d be surprised with what you can create with just one piece.
You can always fall back on a color palette, which is how I created this editorial look. I was focused on the beauty products, by Artdeco Cosmetics, that I knew I’d be featuring for this shoot. My color palette consisted of purple, plum, and fuchsia. Now, how to tie my look together with my favorite beauty products?
I found a simple, sheer, plum blouse from Zara, and was crushing over the color, as well as the style. If you’ve been following the looks I’ve been posting since the fall, you’ll know that I have quite the love for turtlenecks this season. There’s something so sophisticated about them. I knew the blouse worked with my palette. It was a smidge too simple, and needed a bit of pizazz. I spotted a crystallized choker (similar here), which is quite the accessory to sport this season. I wrapped it around the collar to create a jeweled neckline.
Who would have thought, right? You would think of wearing the choker as a necklace, but you can also add the piece to a neckline, and create a jeweled look that’s quite fancy! I paired this look with leather leggings and ankle boots, and my look was complete.
Now for the products. As I mentioned, I created my plum color palette using my brand new eyehadows, and lipstick from European beauty brand, Artdeco Cosmetics. I’ve quickly fallen in love with their products for the lovely colors they offer in the collection, as well as the staying power of the products. I’m out and about all day long, and these beauties truly last, and look beautiful throughout the day.
