Is there a light that guides you through life? A specific path that you must take, in order to reach your true destiny? And what is destiny anyways? There are days when I believe that it exists…that there is a true meaning for everything, and others, when the word seems like a flowery definition of what life is supposed to be.
Blow up your inflatable flamingo raft, grab a cocktail, and float on over. I’m sharing the best places and spaces that we loved during our recent trip to Miami Beach. I forgot that it was spring break, and it just so happened to be a convenient time to hop a flight. Let’s just say, it made for some fab people watching. That being said, I slipped on my flip flops and soaked up the sun in style. I spent days by the pool, with strolls on the beach, and evenings out, decked to the nines. We stopped at a few trendy restaurants for dates nights, evening pit stops for treats, and late nights out with friends. Ohh, and let me tell you about this cookie spot we found. It was my jam!
Do you remember the super sweet days of good, ole’ spring break? Me too. Don’t they seem like a lifetime ago? Alright, so I’m dating myself by admitting that. With one snowstorm after another in NYC, old man winter had me running for the the sandy, beaches of Miami, stat. We booked our stay at the Mondrian, and I was beyond excited. Little did I realize that I’d be arriving in South Beach, at the exact same time as the “spring breakers”… meaning that packs of high school and college kids, would take over those lovely, quiet sandy beaches, with their party pants on.
Cue the Macy’s Thanksgiving day floats, and strike up the band. The holiday season is just around the corner, and if you plan on visiting New York City, you may be searching for some fab places and spaces to make your holiday season a bit more festive. While I love escaping the busy city, I’ll admit that I’ve had a blast during our rare holidays spent in NYC. The city comes alive in the fall, and the leaves in Central Park turn every color of the rainbow. The chill in the air is just right, and as much as I’d rather be on a beach, it really is beautiful here. As the holidays approach, the tree is lit in Rockefeller Center, and the city turns into one, glimmering disco ball, as twinkling holiday lights line the street. It really is a site to see. So, if you plan on sipping your pumpkin spiced lattes, here are my holiday sightseeing recommendations for you (make sure to wear your walking boots and your coziest coat). I’ve included traditional touristy spots, as well as some of my favorite non-touristy favorites for you to peruse.
Pumpkin spiced latte season is just around the corner. Are you skipping to Starbucks yet? Well, I’m absolutely not. One thing you may or may not know about me, is that I absolutely despise the cold weather. I’m not a fan of pumpkin spiced lattes, I miss the green leaves once they change color, and flutter to the ground, and I hate sweater season. Bah humbug. Oh wait…wrong season, right?
What does “living your best life,” mean to you? It means something different for everyone. What are the things in your life that make you happy and can you make a list of those things? Sometimes it’s easier said than done. Traveling hits the top of my list. Adventures allow me to breathe deeper, dream bigger, and focus on the priorities in my life, even when it may seem a bit rocky along the way. Read on…
You are on vaca, and you are headed to the pool. What’s your outfit of choice? A swimsuit, coverup, flip flops…the usual, right? One would think that would be an appropriate outfit, for a beach day. I happen to agree, so I slipped into my teeny, multicolored bikini and headed for the pool.
Give them one giant squeeze, stir yourself a cocktail, step into your fanciest party dress, and get ready for one wild ride. At least that’s the way I like to tackle challenges, so I challenge you to do the same.
It sounds like a simple task, and yet it’s an easy one to forget. There are places and spaces that help me to breathe much easier, and Maui is one of them. It’s quite the distance from NYC, but somehow, this place feels like home.
They were sprinkled across the sky like glitter. I’ve never seen so many stars in my life. There were a million, and I was in awe. The starry skies of Maui were somethinout of fairytale.
