Yumi Kim Hearts and Brahmin Florals

February 10, 2014

New York Fashion Week is here and it seemed to bring the cold weather, sleet, and snow. This time of year, dark colors tend to dominate our wardrobes. After a few months, it leaves me longing for sunshine and brighter colors. With a quick glance through my closet, I realize that winter white and a whimsical print is the perfect solution to update to my look.

With Valentine’s Day, just around the corner, I couldn’t resist this Lena, heart print cami, designed by one of my favorites, Yumi Kim. Inspired by the look of over sized coats this season, paired a fresh winter white blazer to coordinate. I wore dark denim jeans, and nude, platform heels by Nine West.

I designed the Lilac Floral Necklace, and Crystal Vermeil Earrings to complete my look.
The pieces were created from lilac crystals, a vintage crystal brooch and buttons, and gold chain.

Brahmin’s handbag collection is absolutely stunning, and accentuated my ensemble perfectly. I chose the All Day Tote in Melbourne Cocoa, and the Blue Delft Sally Wristlet to feature. The prints and textures of these bags are purely luxurious. The floral print reminds me of hand painted art. Let’s just say I have an extensive Brahmin wishlist, and after checking out these beauties, you may too.

My look today felt updated, fresh and fabulous. The change in colors, and whimsical prints alone, brightened my mood. I was ready to jet off to my fashion week events in style.

Do you have a case of the winter blues? Are stuck in a wardrobe of black? Change things up with color, texture, and great accessories. I promise it’ll add a pep to your step, and that spring sunshine won’t feel so far away.
