What’s better in life than a sister? Absolutely nothing. My sister has been in my life since the age of 2 years old, and I can’t quite imagine a day without her. She’s the bubbles to my champagne, the sprinkles to my cupcake, and the sunshine that surrounds my life everyday. Near or far, I feel her presence. Many sisters are lucky enough to share this same bond.
Enter, gorgeous sisters, founders, and masterminds of Lovely Happenings, Rachael Grayson and Jaclyn Fischer. The bond they share is incredible and I had the pleasure of first meeting them this past summer. They founded their company, Lovely Happenings which focuses on planning themed workshops and events by gathering creative minds throughout the fashion, fitness, beauty, and culinary industries.
This past weekend, I was invited to speak at their Lovely Happenings Fall event. I was incredibly honored to speak alongside bloggers, Dana Mannarino of Pink Champagne Problems, Cara Kovacs of The Stylephile, and Katie Manwaring of Katie’s Bliss. We spoke about our favorite fall fashion trends, must-haves for the season, fall activities that we love, and also gave our audience a few style tips as well. Chatting on the couch, and speaking to the participants of the event felt exciting, and it was the perfect kickoff to the event that day.
Once we finished our panel a few other speakers took the stage, such as Erika Fox of Retro Flame, who spoke about her journey as a blogger coming from Ireland. Elena, of A New York Love Affair showed us how to recreate several looks from our current wardrobe, and Lauren Pruner of PR Blonde, explained helpful tips to achieve success with social media platforms, as well as how to make your presence known and respected in the fashion world. All three women gave such wonderful advice.
There were so many fun activities at the Lovely Happenings event, including painting pumpkins, beauty tutorials, and creating leather tassel key chains. I was beyond proud of my two close girlfriends, Leslie Marin and Olivia Ribera. Leslie is the founder and owner of a fabulous e-commerce jewelry site, Bleecker + Spring. She carries such stunning jewelry pieces, and I couldn’t help but buy a few of my favorites. Symbolic of her personality, Olivia from Sweets by Olivia, shared her delicious sweet treats with everyone. She taught a diy project, instructing us on how to decorate her delicious cupcakes as lovely as she does. Her cakes and treats taste just as delicious as they look.
The theme of the day, seemed to be a topic that each speaker touched upon. Each of the women explained the importance of allowing one’s true character shine through, being a good, respectable person, and contributing to the community and your own industry in the most positive way possible. This means supporting each other, caring for each other and cheering for each other. You’ll get out of life, exactly what you put into it. The words these inspiring women spoke of that day, rang loud and clear. I believe it’s true and so do they. I’m proud of every single woman that stood in that room that day. Each had a belief, a goal, a dream, and a reason to connect with with our community. We shared our talents and learned from each other.
Rachael and Jaclyn poured their heart and soul into that beautiful afternoon and it was truly unforgettable. I’m thankful for their sweet hearts, their creative minds, the love for their craft, and their generosity by including me in their event. I wish them a million successes and I look forward to watching their journey unfold.
So beauties, if you are in the NYC area, I will keep you posted about the next Lovely Happenings event. In the meantime, I hope you take a second to follow some of these remarkable women that spoke at the event that day. I know you’ll love them as much as I do. Lots of love from NYC. xx
