Styled in Yumi Kim’s Goddess Dress for a Soirée in St. Pete

April 7, 2015

Hello Beauties! I hope you had a wonderful Easter/Passover holiday this past weekend. I was lucky enough to travel to St. Petersberg, Florida with Grant, to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday bash. We had multiple events planned from fancy dinners, champagne sunsets on the beach, pool days, celebratory brunches, tennis matches, etc. You name it, we did it. In true Sleepless in Sequins fashion, every single day was a celebration, and my sister loved every moment. I knew that packing would be a challenge, with so many fabulous summer options. The weather here in NYC has still been cold, so I could barely wait to rescue my spring looks from my closet.

The only thing that could have possibly made me more excited for my trip to the sunshine state, is packing every single Yumi Kim piece that I own, in preparation for the warm, sunny temps. I’ve been singing Yumi Kim’s praises for quite some time now, and have previously featured many outfits that I love from the collection (see previous posts here). When I say that I live in my Yumi Kim wardrobe through the spring and summer months, I truly mean that. Yumi Kim creates the perfect, silhouettes which are flattering to every body type. The gorgeous silk fabric is a color burst of stunning prints, and each style is completely irresistible. I stopped by the showroom to choose my favorite pieces for Spring, and I had such a tough time with the decisions. I loved everything, per usual.

One of my favorite pieces was the Goddess Dress, in the Hot Lagoon print, which is bright orange in color, with a multi colored floral print. The dress is is fitted, but flared as the bottom. It has thin straps, and is perfect for the warm weather. The silhouette of the style is feminine, and the silk fabric drapes beautifully on the body, and flatters the figure. I loved it so much, that I had to take with me on our trip.

I wore this lovely dress for stroll on the water, while admiring beautiful homes around Vinoy Park. We stopped by charming little cafes along the way, and I absolutely loved people watching. I felt like I had a preview of the upcoming spring styles. We saw so many women in gorgeous sundresses and maxi dresses. The warm temps, bright colors, and beautiful styles definitely had me in the mood for Spring.

I accessorized with my favorite blue, mirrored Ray Ban aviators. I loved the contrast of the blue, against the orange dress. For another color contrasting piece, I chose Vince Camuto’s Leila Tote, in color Limoncello, which is perfect for a full day of activities. The brilliant color of this bag is to die for. I wore Stuart Weizman, gold, jelly sandals (similar here), earrings from my collection.

With an August birthday, I’m definitely a Summer baby. I truly come alive during the Spring and Summer months. The difference I feel from day to day is incredible and so full of energy. I even have a Summer “look,” which is much different than my Winter “look.” I style my hair in beach waves, carefully apply sunless tanner (no sunburn for me), locate my bright wardrobe, add stacks of colorful bracelets, and flaunt my favorite flip flops. During my trip, I realized that all I need in my life for happiness is sunshine and the people I love most.

What is your favorite Spring or Summer piece, Beauties? I know you’re anxious to wear your bright, fancy Spring styles. I hope you take a moment to check out your favorite pieces in Yumi Kim’s Spring/Summer collection. There are so many perfect statement pieces with are ideal for any occasion. I know you’ll love the collection just as much as I do. Happy Spring shopping!
