It was Saturday night, and I was out on the town. First to a delicious dinner, and then to a favorite lounge in NYC. I sat in front of the giant glass windows, overlooking a picturesque view of the city, and I happily sipped my perfect jalapeño margarita. The gorgeous view of the city, flickering in lights was enough to distract me from my conversation. The music was loud, with men and women soaking up every beat. Then there it was, right in front of my face. A stunning red dress, which was enough to distract me from the glittering city view. A girl with the most beautiful red dress, twirling around the dance floor. I noticed all eyes were on the girl in red. You couldn’t help but stare. Was it the bold red color? The twirling? Or was it her extreme confidence that drew you in? It was the color red.
When this girl dressed for her evening out, she wanted to be noticed, so she searched for something eye catching. I am a sucker for the color red. A red dress, red blazer, or even red skinny jeans. I’ll tell you why. I wear this color with confidence. It effects how I feel, and the way people react to me. You see, red commands attention, it makes others notice you, remember you, and possibly admire you. Colors have the ability to express so much about our mood, our style and how we would like to be perceived. When you choose a bold color, be it red, yellow, electric blue or kelly green, you are making a statement. Bold colors speak to people. They are loud, in your face, and expressive. Color is one of the strongest elements to a key wardrobe. Next time you want to dress to impress, knock ’em dead, wear red.
