This past weekend, we hosted a fall themed Blogger Birthday Bash for two of our dearest fashionistas, Cara Kovacs of The Stylephile and Leslie Marin of Bleecker and Spring. Unfortunately we missed both girls’ birthdays, so we planned a belated birthday celebration. Our other lovely friends who celebrated were Kathleen Osborne of Le Vintage Dress, Aishly Tromp of Style L4b, and Olivia Ribera of Sweets by Olivia.

I chose a fall theme for the party using shades of plum and metallic gold for the decor. When you are planning a party, it’s important to choose a color scheme and theme for your event. I always start with the look of the room. It helps me to envision the end product, before I even begin. I searched Pinterest for creative, fall themed table ideas, and floral centerpieces to create a story board, which helped me plan the party. You check out my party inspiration boards here.

I went to the Flower District located in Chelsea, to create my flower arrangement. Since I used a shimmering gold tablecloth, I knew I wanted to use plum, and other shades of purple, as well as raspberry in the arrangement. I also chose 3 metallic vases, 2 silver and 1 gold to bring out the shimmering gold in the tablecloth. If you have a chance to check out the flower market, I’d highly recommend it. There is an incredible variety. It is a floral paradise.I also used crystal candlesticks, and metallic candles to finish off the decor. I lit my favorite French Bourbon Vanille candle from Voluspa to create a lovely scent. I combined a few ribbons with metallic gold, and purple satin as a table runner. Tea light candles were placed around the apartment to create an ambiance and give the room a glow. Many of the serving pieces I used were by Michael Aram. The crystal cake stand is by Waterford Check out the featured items list below details on the rest of the serving pieces I used.

For the menu, I stuck with hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats. I served apple cider martinis, wine, and champagne for drinks. For the hors d’oeuves, I made a crudité platter, as well as tomato goat cheese crostini, drizzled with black truffle oil. As a fall inspired dish, I whipped up a cream cheese caramel, peanut butter dip, served with apples and pretzels. I also served Treat House’s amazing rice krispie treats, which are always a hit. They are the perfect little dessert for parties.

The birthday cake was made by the incredibly talented, Olivia Ribera of Sweets by Olivia. The cake was purple ombre, and decorated with lavender rosettes for the icing. It was absolutely delicious. If you are in need of sweets for an event, Olivia is the girl to know.

Although it was a party in her honor, of course Leslie showed up with bags of perfectly wrapped gifts with beautiful bows for all of us. We each received gorgeous accessories from Bleecker Spring, which you’ll see in future posts. If you are on a search for the perfect holiday gifts, hop on over to Bleecker and Spring, and shop til’ you drop. You can thank me later.

The evening was absolutely perfect. We laughed together, toasted with champagne, and celebrated our sweet friends, Cara and Leslie. I am so incredibly lucky to have these girls in my life. They inspire me to create, and to dream. They are women to look up to, and women with hearts full of love. It is truly important to surround yourself with friends who lift you up, believe in you, and complete your soul.

On that glorious Saturday night, and because Thanksgiving is upon is, it’s appropriate to say that I’m thankful and grateful for these wonderful women who have danced into my life, and left a lasting impression. Cheers to you and your sweet families. I wish you a wonderful holiday, and hope our party planning tips help with your fabulous celebration.
