We are at it again. New York Fashion Week kicks off this week. Designers and models take the runways, showcasing their latest collections, while crowds of fashionistas, editors and photographers take over New York City to check out the scene. Fancy soirées are planned to honor the celebration, and we spend a week straight dining on champagne and macarons. If you are lucky enough, you’ll find some real food.
Blogger babes, yoga pants, and one, hot SLT studio. That was the scene this past weekend, when I was invited to host a curated class for SLT’s fancy new studio on the Upper West Side. Over 24 hours later, and I’m still thinking about our sweat sesh, because it rocked, but also because every muscle in my body is still sore (in the best way possible, of course).
Color combinations can be tricky, especially when piecing together your look. I don’t know about you, but I often have moments of hesitation. Does this color really work with this one? Ok, I’m not so sure, but can I make it work? When I’m creating my looks I stick to a few rules. Am I using a cool color palette or warm palette? Does the color look good with a contrasting hue, such as black? I try different options to see if they work, and usually photograph them as I go along. I always trust photos instead of my eyes.
Dearest snow storm Jonas. You were soft, sweet and romantic when it all started. I gradually watched you fall, piece by piece, and flake by flake until you became larger than life. You blew in, with a force so mighty, you took over all of New York City. You were cold and ugly. You sent shivers down my spine, and you left it all on the streets. You forced me into my ugly puffer coat, and boring, flat rain boots, which you know I can’t stand. I spent a full day cooped up inside my home, leaving my sequins and party dresses behind, locked in the darkness of my closet. But I’ve got something to tell you, sir Jonas. We. Are. Over.

Let’s face it, the world is competitive, jobs are cut throat and if you live in New York, well…you need to play the game to get ahead. But, what if you could be younger, wiser, and more attractive in an instant? Such is the life of 40 year old Liza Foster from the hit series, “Younger” on TV Land.
New Year’s Eve is a time to move forward. It’s a time to reflect and a time to appreciate the past. As the clock ticks down to midnight, a whole new year with brand new expectations awaits us. Maybe you’ve gone through challenges or hardship, and look to the future as a bright light of hope. Maybe you’ve had a year of bliss, and you wish to cherish those moments and hold on to them for 2016.
A million Thanksgivings and I remember each one for different reasons. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday and a special family tradition. It allows me to stop for a few days, breathe and remember why I’m grateful for the moments and the people in my life. My greatest challenge is to live in the present. I’ve written about this many times, and I think I’m learning to do that. It is important to be grateful for what you have and appreciate each second that you’re living. Take time to thank the people who make your life better just by being a part of it. I have many of those people in my life, and I hope you do too.
What do you pack for an epic adventure on Royal Caribbean’s fancy new ship? I had no idea. I was mind boggled, and entirely overwhelmed with every activity and excursion planned for the trip. Add the Fall theme, but 70 degree New York temps into the mix, and my fall packing plans were thrown for a loop. One weekend, a handful of style influencers, and one luxurious ship in a league of it’s own. We were lucky enough to be invited on a weekend adventure with Royal Caribbean to explore their latest and greatest ship, The Anthem of the Seas, which is currently docked in Bayonne, New Jersey. We were wined and dined, we celebrated and explored, and met so many incredible people. It was truly a memorable weekend.
