Morning Routine Must-Have Products

June 7, 2015

Waking up in Vegas, I always feel a bit of a thrill. We were on a quick vaca for a few days, and stayed at The Signature Suites at MGM Grand hotel. In Vegas, you never know what to expect. I guess that’s what makes it fun. Everything seems so spontaneous to me. The restaurants, pools, and hotels are beyond extravagant and life is full of overindulgence. The whole Vegas strip feels like a giant adult playground. Go big, or go home, right?

I woke up in the morning with an easy little routine. I kept it relaxing, so I could enjoy my day. (In New York, this rarely happens.) I ordered a small plate of berries (which in actuality was a giant serving bowl of berries for 100 people) and green tea for breakfast. I forget the portions of food are triple the size of what I’m used to. Relaxing in my paisley silk robe, I thumbed through a fashion magazine. I can’t miss a beat while I’m away from New York. Then I began to inhale my ginormous bowl of berries. (I barely made a dent.)

After relaxing awhile, I got ready for an eventful day in Vegas. My makeup routine is fairly simple, but I’ve found a few, new fun products I’d like to share with you. I’ll admit, I’m not a huge product girl, so when I find products I like, I tend to stick with them. I’m a creature of habit. Here are a few of my faves.

Featured Products

St. Tropez Express Self Tanner

When I go on vaca, I live for self tanner. It makes me smell terrible for a quick sec, but it’s totally worth it. I’d rather get color in a bottle, than damage my skin from the sun. Self tanner plus SPF in the sun is the way to go. Unfortunately I forgot my favorite one at home, which is Loreal Sublime Bronzer. I was in desperate need, as my color was wearing off and we were shooting a swimsuit blog post the next day. I stopped in Sephora and found St. Tropez’s Express tanner. The color built quickly within 3 hours, and I was dark enough for the next day’s photoshoot. It was a quick fix, and it worked without being streaky. The smell wasn’t bad either.

Tarte Cosmetics Tarteguard Sunscreen SPF 30

SPF is a must have for being out in the sun all day. I’ll admit, I’m a sun goddess, but as I’m getting older, I’m much more conscious of my skin and try to re-apply sunscreen throughout the day. Confession, I was also sold on the adorable magenta bottle. It’s small, and easy to carry in my bag. (I’m a complete sucker for pretty packaging).

Tarte Cosmetics Park Avenue Princess Bronzer

I love this bronzer. It gives the perfect golden glow, and again, I don’t need to rely on the sun for color on my face.

Sephora Blush

I’ve been using NARS blush for quite awhile, and just switched to Sephora brand because I fell in love with the color. They have a great selection of colors, and I couldn’t resist a bright pink for spring and summer.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer

I’ve talked about this moisturizer before and I absolutely love it. I always get compliments on my skin for some reason, and to be honest, I don’t have much of a skincare routine. All of the products are a bit overwhelming to me, but I do consistently use Kiehls moisturizer. I love that it’s simple light weight, and it’s perfect for the warmer temps. It also has SPF 15, which I’m a fan of. I wear this under my make up daily.

Juicy Couture Rollerball Fragrance

I’ve been using this rollerball fragrance for awhile and I love it. There are two different fragrances on each end of the stick. I like to switch up my fragrance often, so I don’t get tired of the same scent. I use the regular Juicy fragrance for daytime, and the Juicy Gold fragrance for the evening. I love that the rollerball is tiny and can easily fit into my bag. It’s great for traveling too.

These are just a few new favorites. What’s your morning routine, Beauties? Do you have any favorite products? We’d love hear about your latest beauty must-haves.
