It was just a day before Thanksgiving and I had the perfect outfit to wear. There was a forecast for snow, and as I worked from my computer, and gazed out the window, I could see the most beautiful, little white flakes, sprinkling upon the city. It was our first New York City snowfall of the season. I darted out of work to meet Grant and take our perfect snowfall photos, however as I bolted out the door, I was greeted with rain and a bunch of puddles. #omg.
Being the amazing photog he is, Grant knew that Times Square would look beautiful in the rain, and puddle jumping was in my immediate future. Dressed in my C. Wonder Reversible Wool Checked Skirt, Express Rhinestone Sweater, black tights, and my Clarks Kacia Alfresco boots, I was dressed for a holiday party, but ready to make a splash. Sometimes life throws a curve ball, and you aren’t quite prepared for it. Make the best of it and leap forward in style. With my hair soaking and my fingertips numb, I wrapped myself in my vintage fur sweater from Dana Buchman (similar style here), threw on some fuzzy earmuffs (similar style here) and went puddle jumping in Times Square, with every single tourist staring at me. We just made the best of it that day, which is quite an important life lesson.
For your holiday ensemble, it can be fun to add a checked or plaid piece to your wardrobe. Balance your look with tights and a great blouse or sweater. This season, I’m loving fur outerwear pieces. Whether it’s faux or real fur, it’s a great way to add a sophisticated look to your style. My leather handbag is from Reiss and works with so many of my Fall/Winter outfits. It’s important to find a great handbag that compliments so much of your wardrobe. Even if you need to spend a little extra money, it’s work the investment.
To accessorize, I found a variety of beautiful gold rings. I’m wearing a pearl ring from my girls at Bleecker and Spring, plus a few other fun options from a local New York boutique. If you are in need of some fabulous holiday accessories, scroll on over to Bleecker and Spring, for some fashion savvy styles, which are irresistible. They are great for holiday gift giving as well.
I hope you make a splash this holiday season, my Beauties. Expect the unexpected and dare to dream. Have fun with styling options, and remember that you only live once. Be your very best self and celebrate in style. Much love to you and your families this holiday season.
