10 Ways to Slay this Fall Season

September 6, 2017

Pumpkin spiced latte season is just around the corner. Are you skipping to Starbucks yet? Well, I’m absolutely not. One thing you may or may not know about me, is that I absolutely despise the cold weather. I’m not a fan of pumpkin spiced lattes, I miss the green leaves once they change color, and flutter to the ground, and I hate sweater season. Bah humbug. Oh wait…wrong season, right?

I live for the sunshine, beach vacations, and summer dresses. As much as fall should feel like a fresh new start, it’s easy to get into a slump, once the weather cools. When the fall rolls around, I always need to push myself to work harder, socialize more, stay active, and give myself a little extra love. Each person is different, but here are 10 things that I do to keep focused at the start of the fall season.

From 1 to 10:

    1. Create New Challenges

I’m currently learning photography, and the goal is to shoot photos at NYFW. I’m working on Fall content for the blog, attending Fall Fashion Week, and designing jewelry for my Fall Collection, which will be coming out soon! Be a busy bee! It’s fun.

    2. Hello Health Kick!

This means working out 5-6 times a week, staying active and keeping my diet clean. When I’m focused on health and wellness, it 100% changes the way I feel in a positive way, from day to day. This includes less sugar, less processed foods, less starches, and less alcohol throughout the week. I do celebrate on weekends! Balance, right? Do it with me!

    3. Dress to Impress

Each Fall, I make sure to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe. When I put myself together each day, I feel better, and I put my best foot forward, in everything that I do.

    4. Stay Social

As the weather gets colder, all I want to do is crawl under the covers with a hot cup of coffee and be anti social. Yes, I love parties, and spending time with friends, but I’m much more social in the summer. By networking, attending fashion events, and making plans, I force myself to be socially active and meet new people.

    5. Travel

Just because the summer season is over, doesn’t mean your adventures need to end. Plan a Fall getaway, and sightsee. Give yourself something to look forward to! Our photos were taken during our recent trip to Martha’s Vineyard, which is an absolutely gorgeous place to travel in the fall. The leaves turn every color imaginable, and it is beyond picturesque.

    6. Change Your Game

I’m all about routines. Trust me. It’s difficult to break my habits, but I’m realizing that changing my small routines in my life, leads to a path of happiness. Whether that be new foods to cook, a new job, new home, or new workout routine. Do it!

    7. Do Something You Love Everyday

I wish there was much more time in the day for this, but carve out a bit of time, even if it’s an hour. Workouts are my guilty pleasure, so regardless of my busy day, I make sure make time for my daily sweat sesh.

    8. Light it Up!

I love sunlight. There’s something about it. I chose our apartment because of the large windows in the living room, and the sunshine that they bring everyday. As the days get colder, and darker, I make sure the apartment is well light, and eat dinner by candlelight, to brighten up the table, as well as my mood. I’m a sun goddess, and I just can’t live without it.

    9. Teach Yourself Something New

Many years ago, I taught myself jewelry design. I have a true love for it, and each season, I create to styles to design. It’s important to continuously learn, and helps to stay motivated.

    10. Give

I love giving. Yes cheesy, but true. Whether it’s giving a gift, or sharing an experience with a friend, that they wouldn’t otherwise have, there’s just something about it that fulfills me. It’s fun to watch the excitement of others, and it really does me happy.

Now, are you wondering about the dreamy destination of this photo shoot? Well, as I mentioned, the photos were taken on the lovely island of Martha’s Vineyard, which is the most peaceful place imaginable. This fits into #5 on our list for Fall travel, doesn’t it? In terms of Fall fashion motivation? Even though it’s toasty outside, I stick to summer silhouettes with jewel toned colors for a seasonal, yet transitional look. I love this sleeveless dress, which I won in the Kee Pieces Giveaway, from an online boutique called Foralles. You can check out the stylish boutique here, and make sure to follow blogger babe, Jasper from Kee Pieces. She has fabulous style, and I know you’ll love her just as much as I do. Such a cute post, Hallie!! I can’t stand winter either! And while I’m in a hurry to wear some of my Fall stuff, I have to remind myself that 73 degrees isn’t sweater weather
