For the past 3 months, (well 12 months if you include the pregnancy), my brain has been consumed with all things baby related. What exactly would we need, in terms of strollers, clothing, and other baby gear? It’s overwhelming to say the least, and the fact that we live in NYC makes space so limited. Ever since baby London arrived on the scene, I’ve definitely limited the baby gear down to my favorites and must-haves. Please keep in mind that while each baby is different, here are my favorite products that work best for us. You may find that your child may have their own list of must-haves. I thought that I would share ours, in hopes that it would help you on the journey to Mama-ville.
Baby Gear Favorites
While roaming the streets of NYC, I’ve found that the Ergo Baby 360 Carrier has given me instant freedom. By carrying London this way, it allows me to be much more mobile, while the stroller felt bulky to wheel around. He loves snoozing while he’s along for the ride, and often likes to check out the city sights. I would be lost without this gem.
This rocker is similar to the one we have. It allows London to have a place to lounge comfortably when we need to put him down. He never sleeps during the night in this. We only keep it as his lounger.
This bouncer is a great little chair for London. It was recommended to us by many mamas. It also allows him to have a chair to chill in while we get things done at home. It is sturdy, and allows him to sit, instead of lay down. Babies are used to laying down, especially as newborns, as they sleep and cuddle often. This gives their head a break from the horizontal action and gives them a chance to be in a seated position.
For a stroller, this one has been great, and very sturdy for the busy streets of NYC. While we’ve only strolled through the summer and fall, the wheels are heavy duty, and perfect for for the city streets. In addition, it’s got a bassinet, which London slept in for bedtime, during his first 3 months.
Although we don’t drive in NYC, this carseat is great for cab rides and Ubers. We also use it with the stroller when we take London out, instead of strolling him in the bassinet. This way, he is buckled in and safe, in case we hit a curb or the stroller gets knocked around. I also keep him in this when I go for stroller runs in the park.
Chicco Infant Carseat & Stroller Caddy
This is the second stroller and carseat we have. We like it because it’s lighter, folds well, and is much easier to take with for quick car rides and airplane travel
I feel as though a large part of my day is washing bottle after bottle. This gem is a huge help in sanitizing all of our bottles
This warmer makes London’s diaper changes a million times easier, due to the warmer temperature of the wipes! It’s soothing and he loves it
This portable pad, is a perfect size, and makes on-the-go diaper changes quick and easy!
I’m in love with this sleek, and easy bag! It has large side pockets which simply fits the breast pump and supplies. There are many other compartments for storage as well. I will be using this beauty for an upcoming trip. It has truly made life so much easier.
Baby Clothing Favorites
Baby Gap has got super cute & affordable styles for infants and up. I love how easy these pieces are to dress London in the morning. They are stylish and simply designed. No tricks, annoying ties, or tight necklines. We’ve picked up many of London’s staples from here.
Same as above. The infant clothing at H&M are at a great price and the pieces are adorable. Many of the bodysuits snap, and wrap making it much easier to dress him, instead of pulling onesies over his head which he hates. There are amazing pieces online too, which I haven’t found in stores. Some of our favorites are from here.
Primary has such cute and colorful onesies! The fabric is soft, and the zip up front makes changing so easy. London’s rainbow striped onesies, and star print onesie pjs are from here.
Monica & Andy is so great for statement pieces as well as gifts. We received a special onesie set, which London wore home from the hospital. Over the summer, I often dressed him in a parrot romper, from this brand as well. I loved it on him. They’ve got such adorable prints for boys, girls, and unisex. It’s a fab find!
