If you know me well, or you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you know that I’m a lover of two things. I have a true love for all things that sparkle. As a jewelry designer, and style influencer, I live for glitz and glam everyday of my life. Now go to the opposite extreme, and I’m also passionate about fitness. I love putting my absolute heart and soul into my workouts, sweating through the excitement but also the stresses in life. I find my workouts to be healing and I’m lost without them. These two loves of mine, are my match made in heaven.

Hello yoga pants! Now that I’ve got your attention, a serious question to ask, here. Does anyone really look bad in yoga pants? They are somehow flattering to all shapes and sizes (unless of course, they are sheer, and then I might retract my statement.) Although yoga isn’t quite my forte, I am a fan of these easy, breezy little tights, that I slip on before I dart out the door to the gym. They shrink down to size, and as I pull them out of my drawer, they look teeny, they look tiny, and I swear if I eat one more blueberry, they won’t quite fit, but voilà! They always do! They stretch, they cling, they flatter, and they do hug in all the right places. Little miracle workers, they are! As I throw on a top, and sneakers, I think to myself, why can’t I just live in these clothes everyday? They’re cute, comfy, and they are entirely too easy.
Activewear is all the rage right now, and I’m addicted to buying it (#help). Every brand from sportswear to designer collections are stepping up their athleisure game. I somehow go through more of my gym wardrobe in a week, than my daily outfits, therefore I find myself constantly buying new activewear pieces. I shouldn’t, but I just can’t resist.
Activewear and street style are blurring the lines, in the trends we are seeing right now. Design details such as shimmering textiles, mesh fabrics, and cut out pieces, are incorporated into sleek, sassy silhouettes. This makes it simple to transition your fitness gear to street style clothing using the same pieces…depending on your activity level, of course. I wouldn’t try it after any of my cardio classes, however maybe after an easy, breezy barre class, you could pull it off. With that said, here are the styles I’m currently crushing over. Check these out for your next sweat sesh. Happy shopping!
Here at Sleepless in Sequins, it’s no secret that I like to play dress up. However, what you may or may not know, is that I’m a bit of a fitness fanatic as well. I can’t help myself. The gym is one of my favorite places to be, and when I say I love it, I truly mean that. When I shop or create wish lists, sporty outfits rarely make the cut. I can tell you that I’m not the most practical shopper. I choose fancy over practical, every day of the week.
Last year around the holidays, I opened a gift from my mother in law. I was beyond excited about the activewear capris she got me. I loved being able to have new fitness gear and not have to search for it. So for the sporties in your life, give the gift of fitness apparel. They’ll be doing jumping jacks for days! Here are are few of our favorite styles to start your search. Happy shopping!
Fitness and nutrition are two very important parts of my life. Exercise is not only healthy for the body, but wonderful for the mind as well. It builds, muscle, strength, endurance, and most of all, confidence. When I workout, my mind focuses on goals and challenges that I aim to achieve in my life. It is my time to reflect, meditate and energize my mind, body, and soul. A strong body, and healthy mind go hand in hand.
