Spring Floral Fling

April 18, 2017

The sun is shining, and the tulips are in full bloom. People are out and about, and I absolutely love it. Is there anything better? The holiday weekend in NYC felt nothing short of fabulous. There’s just something about this time of year that makes me feel much more alive.

It was my childhood dream come true to celebrate Easter, and that dream came true this weekend! Passover is the holiday that I’ve celebrated throughout my life. As a kid I was always jealous of the girls dressing up in pretty pastel dresses, happily headed on Easter egg hunts and nibbling their hearts out on candy galore.

Still to this day, I love seeing the people out and about, strolling the streets during the holiday. This kids are dressed the the nines and the cute factor is pretty extreme. This weekend in NYC was no different. The weather felt like summer, and that made me one happy girl. We celebrated the holiday with good friends, and it was perfection. Everything I’d imagined and more.

To stick with the theme of spring pastels, I mixed up a few colors and textures to create this look. I chose a knit, lavender short sleeved sweater with ruffles (similar here), and a floral, metallic, brocade mini skirt. Brocade can seem like an older fabric, however when used with a youthful silhouette, it can look oh-so-elegant. Ruffles are quite the rage this spring, and I loved that the sweater incorporated this design detail.

To accessorize, I paired the look with charcoal ankle boots, similar (here), and a black, Furla Yoyo Cross body, which has become by staple this spring. I added my Valentino sunnies, (similar here), and hoop earrings to complete the look.

I hope you had the very best holiday weekend, beauties! Remember that Spring is in full swing, so mix up your textures, break out your pastels, and head into the sunshine. Lots of love from me in sunny NYC. xx
