Palm trees are popping up everywhere, and I mean everywhere in NYC! (Wouldn’t that be a dream come true?)! But I truly mean it. This concrete jungle of ours has embraced palm trees in a big way. Unfortunately, I don’t mean in a realistic, towering way, that would make it easy to lounge while sipping a pina colada in tropical paradise. This is NYC, so let’s be real. This city is a mecca for fashionistas, as well as the fashion industry, so of course the palm tree print is trending this summer.
I’ll admit, I’m not a fan of any sort of hawaiian print, although I love florals and I am a fan of tropical paradise. I don’t feel the need to wear a scenic vacation photo on my blouse. However, the more I’ve watched the palm tree trend explode onto every silhouette possible this summer, I have to tell you that I’m loving it. It’s simple, but sophisticated, and resort inspired, but not over the top.
You know I love a great romper, and I quickly fell in love with this strapless jumpsuit, in the palm print. The silhouette is perfect, and I’m a sucker for any strapless option for my summer looks. It bugs me when I run around all day, and have tan lines by the end of the day, after our weekend adventures. I was stopped and complimented by so many people the first day I wore this beauty. It’s a fun, reasonable, must-have piece for your summer wardrobe.
I accessorized with my favorite UGG wedge sandals, that I’ve worn on repeat all summer long. The heel is low, so I can easily walk anywhere in them. The neutral color is incredibly flattering, as it gives the illusion of elongated legs, which I love since I’m a shorty. Not only does UGG nail their fall collection, they’ve created a rockstar summer collection as well. With their fashion forward options, they’ve truly become a brand that I love. I carried a brown, and gold flecked textured clutch (similar here), wore stackable bracelets(similar here, here, and here) and these fabulous new earrings that I quickly scooped up this weekend (similar here).
This weekend was fun filled per usual. My blogger besties and I met for a spontaneous brunch, at The Smile in Soho, and sipped cocktails at Narcissa in The Standard Hotel. My days are always such a treat, when I get to spend them with the girls. Grant and I spent the evening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, toasted with champagne on the roof garden, and finished off the night with ice cream. My Sunday was spent working out, and playing in the park per usual.
Hope you enjoyed a lovely weekend beauties! Check out some of the palm inspired styles I mentioned for summer, and pack a suitcase for your next resort vaca. Just don’t forget to take me with you! Lots of love. xo
