Waking Up in Vegas

September 9, 2014

Team Sleepless in Sequins took a quick trip to Las Vegas last week for a photography conference right before New York Fashion Week. While in Vegas, we stayed at the fabulous Delano Hotel at Mandalay Bay, which recently opened. We originally fell in love with the Delano in Miami Beach, so we decided to check out the new hotel in Vegas, hoping for the same experience.

I was beyond impressed. The boutique hotel felt sleek, chic, and purely glamorous. The decor was modern and swanky. As I walked down the dark hallway, I walked passed a wall of gorgeous, glimmering mirrors. Even the scent of the place was incredible. The feeling in Vegas can be crazy and chaotic, however, this hotel felt luxurious, sophisticated, and peaceful at the same time. I fell in love with the decor, the cute coffee shop, swanky Franklin Bar, and the lovely dining options. White roses in perfect vases were displayed around the space as well.

Birthday Bash in J Crew’s Neon Lace Dress

August 19, 2014

This past weekend I celebrated my birthday in style. I had a lovely afternoon planned, and the perfect dress to wear to for my celebration. I found a gorgeous Lace Shift Dress at J. Crew and couldn’t pass it up. It was a neon citrus yellow, made from Venetian lace. The silhouette is fitted, with and it has a simple, elegant illusion neckline. The great news is that this lovely dress is now on sale at J. Crew. I accessorized with jelly sandals by Stuart Weitzman, a beautiful Milly, studded bow bracelet, which I received as a gift, and mirrored aviators by Ray Ban.

Brahmin’s Wearable Art Party

August 10, 2014

Last week, on a beautiful summer evening, we were invited to Brahmin’s Wearable Art Party held at Hotel Giraffe’s rooftop in Midtown, Manhattan. Fashion bloggers Grace Atwood, and Jess Ann Kirby hosted the event. Also in attendance were Jessie Artigue, Cara Kovacs, Jessica Sturdy, and Lisa Rosado.

The idea behind the event was to showcase Brahmin’s gorgeous Fall 2014 Collection as wearable art. The handbags were absolutely stunning. They were displayed, as a museum exhibition. The deep, rich colors and textures of the Fall bags were breathtaking. I couldn’t decide which bag I loved best. Colorful, art inspired cocktails were served throughout the evening, as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres.

Neutral Elegance

May 6, 2014

While I tend to be the queen of prints, there’s something to be said for a truly classic, chic look using solid colors. I love the elegance and sophistication of a pure white dress. It is a clean look which is truly flattering on anyone. Neutral colors are always on trend for spring, and they remind me of a blank canvas. A beautiful, simple silhouette draws attention to a woman’s face, and also leaves room to play with accessories. The Robe Remerciement Dress by Sandro Paris fits the body perfectly, and has an interesting, sheer geometric detail. I also love the open detail in the back. Sandro Paris has some incredibly stunning pieces in their Spring collection.
