Spring Forward With A Fresh New Look

March 13, 2016

The sun is shining in NYC, it’s a bit brighter out, and you know what that means? It’s time to transition your wardrobe as well! I know it still may feel a bit too chilly, but I’m telling you to do it! Free yourself from the black winter abyss, otherwise known as your winter closet. Pull out your white denim jeans, pair it with a spring blouse or outerwear piece and it will refresh your look in an instant.

Over the last week, I’ve made it a point to do this, and it has truly improved the way I feel. I have a pep in my step, and although work, as well as my blog commitments have been hectic, it has really changed my mindset. The bit of sunshine, and an updated look makes me excited to tackle my work and bring on a few new projects.

You may hear the word, “transitional” in fashion fairly often. What exactly does that mean? It means that even though the weather may not be warm enough to wear your favorite sundress, you can still sport a floral piece, layered with your favorite leather bomber jacket, or khaki trench coat to make it seasonally appropriate. Personal style is all about mixing and matching your favorite looks. Transitional dressing allows you to get as much use out of your wardrobe as possible, while using the pieces that you already have.

For today’s look, I chose to use navy and white as my color scheme. I paired my favorite white jeans (similar here), with a navy and white silk, ruffled cami (similar here) by Yumi Kim. I layered a longer navy coat, with a textured, woven fabric. I wore my nude, Claudette Pumps which are currently are my faves! I accessorized with a long, sparkly pearl necklace I designed (similar here), silver crystallized hoop earrings (similar here), and my tortoise, Alexander McQueen sunglasses. I carried a tan, crystallized Chloe inspired saddle bag (similar here) to complete my look.

This weekend was chaotic, but so much fun! We spent Saturday exploring Connecticut, with my sweet cousins. We played on the beach and had lunch together. Sunday, I took my favorite fitness classes, and attended a blogger brunch at Da Silvano in the West Village, hosted by Alex Anthony Salon. We were introduced to several of their amazing products and spent the afternoon chatting with each other. I met up with Grant a bit later for our photo shoot and we closed out our weekend, at our favorite spot, Tavern on the Green for champagne. I can’t wait until the weather gets a bit warmer, and we can spend our evenings on the patio.

So Beauties, I hope you enjoyed the lovely weather and had the very best weekend. Wishing you a wonderful week. Lots of love from NYC. xx
