Oh, the power of social media. Call it fate, call it style inspiration, or a slight case of Instagram obsession, but I recently met a brand new blogger bestie. On a night spent tossing and turning, I gave up on the tossing and reached for my phone (generally a terrible idea). During my sleepless nights, I could be doing something educational such as reading, however I choose to endlessly scroll through Instagram, and chalk it up to trend research.
Enter, my new friend Haili, from All Ze Details. I had been following her on Instagram for quite some time, and learned about her through a brand that I love, Elaine Turner. I love Haili’s sense of style. It is feminine, glamorous, and effortlessly chic. With an almost identical name, the same 4.5 shoe size, and a similar style, she may as well be my brunette soul sister. I commented on a recent video of her twirling around New York, and she quickly commented back. We exchanged a few messages, and she asked me to join in a fall fashion collaboration with her. Of course I jumped at the opportunity and was so excited to meet her.
Haili is just as sweet, and lovely as she appears in her photos. I had the pleasure of meeting her wonderful husband Michael as well. They were in the city, traveling from London for a few days, we were lucky to meet them. Grant came along and we met at the Elaine Turner store, to check out the new Fall collection. I fell in love with Elaine’s fall bags. As usual, her collection exceeded my expectations. Each of her accessories are true statement pieces. The colors are rich, the textured leather is luxurious, and the intricate design details of her bags and shoes make each of the pieces so unique.
Haili and I both chose similar Python clutches, to contrast the deep fall colors in our dresses. Haili is wearing a simple black, fitted dress, and I’m styled in Elaine Turner’s Audrey Dress, in color Blackberry. The color perfectly complimented Haili’s dress. Both looks felt sophisticated, and fully inspired by the upcoming fall season.
We accessorized with lovely statement necklaces as well. Haili is wearing a Gold and Turquoise Statement Necklace, (similar here), and I am styled in the Estrella Bib Necklace (currently on sale), which I had been eyeing at every single Elaine Turner event, since I discovered the brand. It is so gorgeous, and perfectly completed my fall look. I wore my own geometric, gold drop earrings, and Haili chose Willa Bamboo Stud Earrings, which I love.
Once our fall looks were complete, we took a stroll down Madison Avenue and headed towards one of my favorite spots, the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Haili and I walked side by side, as our photographer hubbies darted around us snapping photos, and discussing their shared interest in photography.
We finished shooting, and found ourselves starving, realizing we had been so busy with our day that we hadn’t eaten. The four of us made an emergency pit stop to the popular New York seafood joint, Luke’s Lobster. I had always heard of it, but never stopped by. Haile and Michael said it was one of their favorite spots to eat, while in New York, so we gave it a shot. Delicious! Once we finished our lunch, we popped over to a cozy little wine bar for champagne. Hours passed and the afternoon quickly became evening. The sun had set, but we found ourselves unable to part with our new found friends.
There was only one thing left to do. We quickly got gussied up, and headed to one of our favorite rooftops in the city, Upstairs, at the Kimberly Hotel. This is a definite spot to check out if you live here, or are visiting during the spring or summer months. We arrived at the top of the hotel, and the doors opened to it’s gorgeous rooftop, just as I had remembered it. With twinkling lights, strung from post to post, a view of the of the picturesque Manhattan skyline peeked though, showing it’s true beauty. The warm, summer evening’s breeze made it the perfect spot to lounge with our new friends.
We sipped cocktails, shared hors d’oeuvres and laughed until our bellies hurt. We listened to Haili and Michael’s stories of their endless traveling adventures and were inspired by their lives. It’s not often that you come across such wonderful people, that you so easily feel connected with.
The day felt perfect in every way possible. I had so much fun with Haili, styling our fall looks with Elaine Turner, and loved getting to know her. My only regret is the fact that she currently lives in London. Looks like I may be hopping a flight to visit Big Ben, and my brand new blogger bestie some time soon.
So Beauties, I hope you were inspired by our fall fashion looks from Elaine Turner. I hope you’ll choose a few looks that you love for the upcoming season. Make sure you swing on by to Haili’s site, All Ze Details. As you can tell, she’s purely fabulous, and I know you’ll love her as much as I do. xx
