It’s been close to four months that I’ve spent in destination Mamaville, without a solo date night, and we were anxious to get out on the town. However, we decided to head on an epic adventure, to close out the end of my maternity leave. We traveled to Maui, as it is the very place that has been so special to us. For years we wished that we would bring our future baby to an island that feels like our second home. That wish finally came true.
For our very first date night as parents, we were invited out for a sunset luau dinner cruise, with the Pride of Maui. This incredible company is known for their sunset tours and snorkel tours. We decked ourselves our in our island cruise attire, which for me was a long sleeved, hot pink and metallic gold, chiffon dress and sandals. Once we boarded the ship, it set sail, gliding through the Pacific Ocean. The boat cruises past the stunning coastline of Maui, the West Maui Mountain range, Mt. Haleakala as well as the islands of Molokini, Lanai, and Molokai.
Grant and I were the only couple at the bow of the boat as the sun set over the water. The sky burst into brilliant colors before our eyes, and I couldn’t help but feel so lucky. Our lives leading up to this point were a bit a stormy. This ride felt symbolic. The sky was gorgeous. The ocean was calm and tranquil. In that moment, I felt exactly that, for the first time in a very long time.
We sipped our wine & cocktails which were complementary throughout the evening. Once the sun set, the evening turned into a lively party with an assortment of appetizers, catered dinner, and dessert which was delicious! The evening’s live entertainment was complete with Polynesian dancers.
At the end of the evening, Grant and I sat at the top deck of the ship, under glittering lights. We talked about our lives, and how we had finally come to this point. To say we were grateful would be an understatement.
Many thanks to the Pride of Maui for a truly, unforgettable first date night. We will be back soon!
